France to buy drones from Israel
France has decided to purchase unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from Israel. According to reports, the French are looking at Heron TP or Eitan for surveillance purposes. After the US, Israel is ranked number two in drone manufacturing.
In the latest deal, Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd (IAI) will work with the French firm Dassault Aviation SA. According to the Jerusalem Post, the deal is valued close to $500 million over a number of years and could lead to additional contracts for IAI as other countries, such as Germany, seek to upgrade their UAV capabilities.
