'Rip' Torn arrested for drunken bank break-in

In 2010, actor Elmore ‘Rip’ Torn was charged with breaking into a Connecticut bank and carrying a loaded handgun while intoxicated.

According to Connecticut police, the 78-year-old Salisbury resident was arrested after police found him inside the Litchfield Bancorp with a loaded revolver.

The Men in Black actor was taken into custody and booked on charges including burglary and possession of firearm without a permit. In 2009, Torn was given probation in a Connecticut for drunken driving case and granted permission to enter an alcohol education programme. He also has two previous drunken driving arrests in New York.
