Singh represents Lucknow constituency in Parliament. This will be the 11th edition of Defexpo. Nine editions of this biennial show have been held in New Delhi, while the last two were shifted by the then Defence Ministers Manohar Parrikar and Nirmala Sitharaman to their home states of Goa and Tamil Nadu respectively in 2016 and 2018.

The new Defence Minister also wants to use the staging of Defexpo in Lucknow to promote the Defence Industrial Corridor in Uttar Pradesh.

The website is meant to enable online booking of space on a first come, first served basis. Entry tickets for trade visitors for the first three days of the exhibition will also be sold online. Entry for the general public will be free on the last day, that is February 8. But the general visitors will be required to register themselves online.
