INSV Tarini Flagged Off for Return Voyage from Port Louis

The High Commissioner of India K. Nandini Singla interacted with the crew & wished them fair winds & smooth seas.

INSV Tarini on transoceanic sailing expedition set sail from Port Louis, Mauritius on March 30, 2024. The sailing vessel crewed by the resilient duo of Lt Cdr Roopa A and Lt Cdr Dilna K will undertake return voyage to Goa covering a distance of approx 2900 nm. The expedition was flagged off by distinguished yachtsman, Cdr Abhilash Tomy (Retd), who is also the official mentor of these two women officers. The flag off ceremony was also attended by Captain Manish Sain, Director, Indian Naval Sailing Association (INSA) and members of HCI, Mauritius. A MCG Dornier overflew the boat during departure from port. This expedition is part of the preparation training for the upcoming circumnavigation planned to commence in September this year.

INSV Tarini

Earlier, INSV Tarini arrived at Port Louis on March 21, 2024 after a non-stop voyage of 22 days from INS Mandovi, Goa. During port visit, the crew and support staff of Tarini called on High Commissioner of India, K. Nandini Singla. During her visit onboard, the High Commissioner interacted with the crew and wished them fair wind and smooth seas on this historic voyage.

INSV Tarini is likely to reach Goa on April 20, 2024.
