Lt. General Daljit Singh, Director General of Medical Services (Army) has been appointed as Honorary Surgeon to President of India.

PROFILE

Lt. General Daljit Singh, DGMS (Army) is an alumnus of prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. He was commissioned in to the Indian Air Force on December 17, 1983. He holds a MD Degree in Pediatrics from Pune University. Amongst his other qualifications are DNB (Pediatrics) from National Board of Exams and DM (Neonatology) from PGIMER Chandigarh. He is presently the senior most pediatrician and neonatologist in Armed Forces Medical Services. As a part of AFMS the General Officer dedicated his services to the Air Force till September 29, 2021. On September 30, 2021, The General Officer was permanently seconded to Army and he assumed the appointment of DGMS (Army). During his 38 years of service, he has held numerous professional appointments including Principal Medical Officer at HQ Central Air Command Allahabad. He has commanded prestigious 7 Air Force Hospital Kanpur. He has also held the important staff appointment of ACIDS (Medical) at HQ IDS and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Medical) at Air HQ.

He is trainer of Pediatric Advanced life support and Neonatal Resuscitation Programme. He has published various research papers in National and International Journals. The General Officer has also been awarded Vishisht Seva Medal in 2020 for his outstanding & meritorious service to Armed forces.
