First Reaper flight in Sahel

Issue No. 3 | February 01-15, 2014

On January 16, one of the two French Reapers deployed to the Sahel since late December made its first flight. The aircraft took off from Niamey and flew for about 40 minutes.

This flight is an indication of the imminent operational introduction of these two MALE drones bought in 2013 to improve French surveillance capabilities in the Sahara-Sahel region.
