The Defence Minister, A.K. Antony has said in Parliament that Pakistani troops had resorted to firing and violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC ) two times in June 2011 and three times in July 2011 using small arms, machine guns and rocket launchers. There were no casualties on the Indian side in the firing.
All incidents of ceasefire violations are investigated and protests are lodged with Pakistan military authorities at the appropriate level through the established mechanism of hotlines, flag meetings and talks between the DGsMO.
