Last week, we were honored to host Dr. D.K. Sunil, Chairman of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), at our Lynn, MA manufacturing site for discussions and a tour of our facilities where GE Aerospace teams build the F404-IN20 supporting India's Tejas program.
We discussed our continued work to speed delivery of F404-IN20 engines for the Indian Air Force's Tejas LCA Mk1A program, including the recently announced order for 113 additional engines.
GE Aerospace is proud to power India's indigenous fighter jets, and these orders demonstrate the confidence that HAL and the Indian Air Force have in the performance of the F404 engine, which has an incredibly strong history of powering the most advanced fighter jets around the world. We are honored to continue delivering this outstanding engine to India.
For more than 40 years, HAL and GE Aerospace have collaborated across programs including the F404 and F414 for the Tejas and AMCA programs, and the LM2500 powering the Indian Navy's frigates and indigenous aircraft carriers.
Thank you to Dr. Sunil and the HAL team for the partnership and productive conversations in Lynn.
