This is the second significant meet by the Indian Defence Minister in Moscow during his visit
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is on a three-day visit to Russia, held bilateral talks with Myanmar Military Chief in Moscow on June 25, 2020. The Defence Ministry tweeted on Thursday about the same, stating that Singh had a meeting with Myanmar's Military Chief, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in Moscow.
This is another significant addition to the Defence Minister’s visit to strengthen military ties with other nations. On Tuesday, he had also met Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov to discuss about strengthening the defence relationship between the two countries.
According to Myanmar’s military spokesman Brigadier General Zaw Min Tun, the Military Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing is on a one-week visit to Russia to foster ties between the two countries’ armed forces. Hlaing also attended the Victory Day Parade in Moscow.
Singh had attended the grand celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of Victory Day Parade at Red Square in Moscow on June 24, 2020 along with representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, etc. A tri-service contingent of the Indian military had also marched at the Victory Day Parade at the Red Square in Moscow. The Defence Minister interacted with the contingent post the parade.
